Case Study

HISTORY

Revolve Solutions LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business founded in 2006 in Alexandria, Virginia. Christopher Reese, the owner of Revolve Solutions, is originally from Pennsylvania where he studied Communications Media at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He then went on to obtain his Masters at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. In late 2000, Chris launched his first consulting firm to tackle the needs of developing and distributing educational content for adults through digital channels. As the internet emerged, it became apparent that it was a viable alternative to videotape and satellite delivery. This pushed Christopher Reese to learn how to utilize these new technologies in his work. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served 23 years before retiring in 2015. He deployed to Iraq in 2003, which caused him to temporarily close his business. Upon his return, he spent time working inside SAIC, Freddie Mac and the Defense Intelligence Agency. He learned how large organizations operated and managed talent and training, and in 2009, he had his first government contract in place. Over the past decade, he has established Revolve as a strategic small business partner.

WHAT IS REVOLVE SOLUTIONS?

Revolve Solutions LLC is a business that focuses on media production and creative design work, but has a wide variety of services available. Revolve creates and customizes innovative campaigns for some of the country’s largest enterprises, including the U.S. Army (Force Management Support Agency, Logistics Innovation Agency, Office of Business Transformation), U.S. Marines, Public Broadcasting Service, Comcast, and many more. This propels the business into the center of the Federal contracting space.

One example, is providing Audio Described videos and creating easily accessible information for all people, even those with disabilities. During my time at Revolve, I was introduced to Audio description and the software used to create these accessible videos. In creating Audio Described videos, Revolve addresses 508 compliance which states that, agencies must give disabled employees and members of the public access to information comparable to the access available to others.

Another service that Revolve offers to clients is creative and communications assistance. I worked with our Communications Strategist to create and communicate effective content for our social media that engages the viewers. Revolve also offers business consulting to their clients, which I was exposed to in aiding our clients with ideas and content that will influence their audience. Revolve is dedicated to bringing powerful, measurable change to both their local community and the world around them. Revolve's corporate citizenship initiatives are implemented on several levels, ranging from company-wide platforms to employee-match donation incentives. They also support numerous civic-minded events, activities, and youth-oriented programs.

During my time at Revolve Solutions LLC, I worked in the various departments, listed above, and accomplished numerous tasks within each department. I was able to observe how the company functioned on a day to day basis. I really enjoyed my time spent at this internship and look forward to working on similar things in the future.
